Girls on the Run® is a non-profit prevention program that encourages preteen girls to develop self-respect and healthy lifestyles through running.
During a 12-week program, girls learn the importance of:
- Celebrating their bodies
- Honoring their voices
- Recognizing their gifts, and
- Activating their personal power
While we incorporate running and walking activities into each session, we do so much more. Trained coaches address all aspects of girls’ development–physical, emotional, mental, social, and spiritual well-being. This life-changing, character-development program is for Hamilton County girls in third- through eighth-grade.
At the end of every session, girls get a chance to participate in a local 5K race. It’s never about who finishes first, but it’s all about finishing, whether our girls run, walk or even skip across to the finish line.
